NSAC Medically Suspends Nine UFC 98 Fighters

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has issued medical suspensions to a total of nine competitors from this past weekend's UFC 98 card, according to paperwork released by NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer.

UFC 98 took place May 23 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Suspensions were issued to only two of the night's winning fighters, Kyle Bradley and Dave Kaplan. Headliner Rashad Evans, who's suspended until July 23, was among the seven losing fighters who will also serve suspensions.

Some of the suspensions included:

Rashad Evans is suspended until July 23 with no contact until July 8 for precautionary reasons.
Drew McFedries must have his right wrist X-rayed and cleared by an orthopedic doctor. Otherwise, he's suspended until Dec. 10.
Xavier Foupa-Pokam is suspended until July 8 with no contact until June 23 for precautionary reasons.
Sean Sherk is suspended until July 8 with no contact until June 23 for precautionary reasons.

I think Rashad got suspended cause his head looked like an over boiled 3 minute egg when the fight was over, and when he fell, it looked like the rubber band on his neck may have tweaked.

"for precautionary reasons" ..... after each fight they are examined by doctors etc. In Rashad's case he was knocked out might have a mild concusion etc. It's not as though they did something wrong, this is for their own safety.
