Urijah Faber, Six Others medically Suspended After WEC 41

The California State Athletic Commission has issued medical suspensions to a total of seven competitors from this past weekend's WEC event.

"WEC 41: Brown vs. Faber II" took place June 7 at ARCO Arena in Sacramento, Calif.

Debuting featherweight Manny Gamburyan, Antonio Banuelos and Seth Dikun were each suspended after winning their bouts, while headliner Urijah Faber was among the four losing fighters sidelined by the commission.

Gamburyan broke his right hand in a unanimous-decision victory over John Franchi and received a 180-day suspension from competition or contact in training after suffering a broken right hand.

Faber, who recently underwent surgery for a broken right hand, was also suspended until Dec. 4 unless cleared earlier by a doctor.

Anyone who trys to knock out Brown is not leaving with a good hand. He is a lot tougher than any of you can imagine. The strenth of Brown is unnatural. And he is just getting started. Brown is a born fighter. The blood of ireland.

Brown controlled the ground game but he needed to let his hands go just a little more.
