Higuain snubs new Real Madrid contract offer

Los Blancos top goalscorer Gonzalo Higuain rejected the latest offer to extend his contract until 2015. Higuain is one of the best players in Real Madrid, but also the lowest paid player with just 1.5 million euros per year. It looks like Higuain is confident to seal a better deal abroad, with Internazionale and Arsenal as keen admirers.

Real Madrid are currently on the second place in the Spanish La Liga with five points behind the leaders FC Barcelona. Arsenal are probably the leaders in the chase to sign Higuain, with Andrei Arshavin (who is naturally a winger) as their only striker. Higuain's price tag is thought to be in the region of 20 million euros.
