Mourinho: John Terry is an ideal captain

Axed England skipper John Terry received some back-up from his former manager, Jose Mourinho. Portuguese expert stated that John Terry is still an ideal captain and one of the sport's icons.

“I gave the armband to John Terry at Chelsea  and in that moment there wasn't a figure like Javier Zanetti, who at Inter is untouchable. I arrived, spoke to the players and found two personalities who could be captain. One was Terry, the other my vice-captain Frank Lampard. I've always thought it was the perfect decision. After me many more managers sat on the Chelsea bench and now you'd have to talk to them. I have always been very lucky with my captains, as it's tough for a team to succeed without a great captain.”

Jose Mourinho is currently in a very good position with his team, Internazionale, on the top of the Italian Serie A with eight points above city rivals AC Milan. Despite his success, many people suggest that one day "The Special One" could return to Stamford Bridge for another spell as Chelsea manager.
