The Old Lady finally decided to sack Ciro Ferrara

After embarrassing results during the season, Juventus finally decided to suck the underachieving boss Ciro Ferrara, and appointed former AC Milan and Inter Milan boss Alberto Zaccheroni in his place until the end of the season.

Official club statement confirmed the news: "Ferrara has been relieved of his position and Zaccheroni has been appointed until June 2010"

Forty-two year old Ciro Ferrara was under enormous pressure after The Old Lady were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, knocked out of the Coppa Italia by Inter and are currently on a sixth place in the Italian Serie A. Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez and the Dutch legend Marco Van Baster are among the rumored long-term candidates for the job at the Torino club.
